Free Drupal 8 themes: The best and most stylish Drupal themes ready to go! (2018)

With the Drupal 8 launch and its further development towards maturity, it is time to have a look at the best free Drupal 8 themes available. Doing so it was our aim to identify the most stylish and best free Drupal 8 themes that are „ready to go“. There are not many such themes available that meet our standard, but we identified a couple of really great free themes fulfilling the following criteria.

Most stylish means themes with a great design. Best is referring to the quality of the theme. This requires first of all that a theme is 'actively maintained' and under 'active development'. Secondly it requires that the theme is technically up to date (example responsiveness) and well developed and easy to administer and customize. By „ready to go“ we mean that these are themes that can very easily be customized and made ready for a live website. Thus our list excludes „developer themes“ that provide frameworks for the development of websites.

Important note: We assess all categories having the best possible themes in mind. Thus we use the same criteria and scale for paid and free themes. Subsequently it is "normal" that the best free themes usually can't achieve top ratings in all categories.
